Today we explored the ancient city of Petra. We journeyed on foot through the unusual natural rock formations and came to the breathtaking jewel that is The Treasury facade carved into the rock face in the 1st century BC. The place buzzing with locals selling their wares and a wide range of tourists of different nationalities.
Walking further on we celebrated a special Mass in an ancient byzantine Church with mosaics dating back to 5th century AD. Today we celebrate the feast of St Philip and James - pray for us.
It was long, hot and sweaty journey - but an experience like no other. Some pilgrims took the option of a camel, donkey or horse carriage to return which was quite memorable!
